I know it's silly, but I'm really sad that A Lesser Beauty is done. Well. Maybe sad isn't the right word. Melancholy. I liked the waiting. I liked the drama inherent in the author's comments. I liked reading past chapters and muttering expletives aloud at the beautiful prose.

And, hey, Kingdom Hearts fandom: you get a lot of shit. But this fandom taught me that fanfiction can be a gateway. It can be a savior. It can take a person's sorrow and make it joy. I've read fanfic from so many other fandoms, TV and anime and game and even bandom (that was a dark time). No other fandom has given me so much without asking anything in return. The thought of this one dying or the franchise going away or the people within the fandom leaving makes me want to cry. It's like a little family.

Mm. But. I feel like the step-cousin in that family. I want to be a part of it. I'm not productive enough or good enough. Oh, that's just stupid though. Something inside of me says I just need to write it and put it out there and hope to god people like it. Even if they don't, at least I'll have gotten it out of my system. Anyway.

Going a little cry-shaky right now; this really impacted me. I kinda hate that it impacted me so much. I just...I feel it. That's what makes it so amazing. I really feel it.
